Maher Continues Catholic Bigotry

Pewsitter.com

August 19, 2008 - Bill Maher will appear on Larry King's cable show to talk about politics and his show HBO Show "Real Time." Maher's latest project, "Religulous," a "mockumentary" whose title is a combination of the words "religious" and "ridiculous."

Maher makes no secret of his hatred for religion: "I have hated the Church way before anyone else," Maher said in 2002.

But the comedian's long history of anti-Catholic vitriol came to a head in April, at the time of Pope Benedict XVI's first apostolic visit to America. On his show, Maher claimed that Pope Benedict XVI "used to be a Nazi," called the Catholic Church "the Bear Stearns of organized pedophilia" and said, "If you have a few hundred followers, and you let some of them molest children, they call you a cult leader. If you have a billion, they call you 'pope.'"

American Life League (ALL), A Catholic, pro-life organization has collected over 30,000 signatures on its FireBillMaher.com web site since April. The organization demands that Time Warner fire Bill Maher for his hate speech and now asks those same supporters to voice their concerns on "Larry King Live."

“Why is Larry King giving this guy yet another platform to spew hate-filled propaganda against millions of Catholics?" asked Jim Sedlak, vice president of American Life League. "Why are we letting this kind of bigotry stand? There's been enough anti-Catholicism in this country; we don't need Larry King and Bill Maher fanning the flames of hate."

We should pray for the healing of his Soul. He needs it - otherwise he will spend eternity in hell. God created this poor man and loves him but Maher is confused as he has let the evil one into his life.

Maher is just a despicable human being; he is a hate-monger without any tolerance for anyone different from him. It disgusts me that he is allowed any tv appearances. We would never tune in to him.

There is no way to silence Bill Maher's bigotry nor should there be. We know the truth and should continue to bring his hatred into focus and to condemn it, but ultimately his judgement is up to God. Let's have enough faith to know when all is said and done, truth will win. Don't let him and his kind deter you from this truth. God Bless!!

Bill Maher doesn't realize that he can't hurt Catholicism or Catholic people, all he is huritng is himself. Anti Catholics are very prevelant these days, but in spite of that fact, the Catholic church has billions of members so they are the losers not us.

It seems in the society in which we live the only thing some people understand are dollars and cents. I recommend that instead of putting forth effort to fire Bill Maher, there should be a class action lawsuit against the network that he works for. I suggest the Thomas Moore Law Firm. Where can I donate & sign up?

don't worry about maher, simply ask God to remove the "scales" from his eyes. The transformation of one doctor,BernardNathanson, came about the same way. He was a co-founder of NARAL,an abortionist. His eyes were opened WIDE while he was editing a training film,a how-to-do first trimester abortion procedure. THAT film became "TheSilentScream" and the doctor converted to Catholocism.

Maher needs an exorcism. He also said if he were Pope he'd get rid of the Catholic Church. He is mentally ill . If anyone else spoke about any other religion the way he speaks they would be considered crazy. He's crazy in my opinion.

It is useless to reason with Mr. Bill Maher. Lets only pray for his innerhealing and conversion of heart. My prayer for him is Let the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ shine on him and may his spiritual eyes be opened. Regards, Clifford.

Maher is what he is today, because he has not experienced being a true Catholic. He has not experienced the Love of the Lord, because he is a very closed person and will not allow Jesus to reach him from within his soul. I suggest we, brothers and sisters in Jesus, should pray for his conversion and his release from the bond of satan.

It isn't biggotry to argue against a system of beliefs. There's no such thing as an anti-communist biggot or an anti-nazi biggot. If you have a system of beliefs that is destructive and childish and someone points out what's wrong with it that isn't biggotry.

Mr.Maher is full of hatred and is sad. I feel sorry for anyone who hates. They miss so much in giving their attention to hating this or that, instead of taking the live and let live attitude toward life. Makes you wonder what happened to him that he is full of hatred. The Catholic Church or for that matter, any church or house of worship should be treated with respect. The Catholics for one do not even get a little angry at this man, but I do know for a fact that they pray for him. I got this from a few Catholics that I've talked with about this issue. Poor man,he needs lots of prayers, is what they say. Gee how's that for turning the other cheek?

Why doesn't the church sue him for spewing hatred at the church. I know if this was Islam that he was talking about his career would be over in a heartbeat.
